Starcross Steamer(screamer) what a blast

Strarcross website currently lists only 13 finishers - can that be right?

No doubt you'll be gunning for the mason's then?  They certainly present a challenge to any 4000 sailor no matter how seasoned.  I'll try and bully mark into coming down for a weekend here and there with the 4000.  Assuming of course he actualy lets me back in the boat after my piss poor performance towards the end of last year.

I went for a blast round BBSC on saturday, enjoying the nice winds, but couldn't make it for the racing on Sunday, far too hungover, and had work to do for the monday unfortunately.

Just thought i'd join in with the BBSC massive

Well lets start getting us non bbsc people in here then!!
Last sunday i had my second outing on the musto (i really do love this boat).  The morning went great, i lead the fleet round the course despite two capsizes, although on the very last leg for some reason people decided to catch me up......how rude!
The afternoon did NOT go so well however, the gusts became far more aggressive and i had trouble (to say the least) handling the boat in them which ended up in me retiring from that race.
But still, another sunday will dawn and im already raring to go again!

Luke, if we have to start a list of people who were sailing before you were born we'd be here a while!

PS is this thread available to non BBSC sailors?

thanks for all the comments stuart but then again u have to remamber you were sailing when i wasnt even born.

that is a rubbish excuse for not doing better the jib on my boat has died and the batton even decided it would pop out and say hi last sunday.   but i was happy with my result and these no doubting it that we will whip the floor with u next year

thanks bns for crewing for me was great fun with you and even after getting a dunking you still had a great sense of humor.

I might do a few circuit events, but let's face it there are people at Wilsonian I want to beat and the sailing there is varied and challenging.  After all I could have stayed at BBSC and been the dominent 4000! [More wind up].

I think the crew issue is not applicable.  Val who crewed for Alex is a real tryer and has sailed with me on the Medway in some pretty strong weather although her diminutive frame means you hardly notice the difference when she gets out on the wire (all the better for those downwind legs).  BNS looks very comfortable on the wire and I never heard Luke complain and Sonja has only recently been crewing for me but we're begining to get it together.

And finally have you seen how old and tired my jib is - they should be ashamed of themselves - being beaten by that.

Ooh its on now stewpot! Her name is Ione and she wasnt the best crew in the world but 10/10 for effort! And stewpot battered jib v battered boat = no competition. luke and i will get you stewart when we next meet! Thats a promise . I had my first taste of high performance sailing in a 4000 thanks to the jedi master that is stewart and im very greatfull but like so many great masters, they have always fallen to their apprentacies.
