I was just reading about this they reckon there isn't really any professional fleet racing for big boats and The World Sailing League is going to fill that niche.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

success of failure, thats a whole lot of money thats got to come from somewhere.....? I suppose that may not be such a problem as their does seem to be a lot of money floating around on the big boat scene, but still, are they not spreading it all a bit thin??

Is this going to be a success or is it doomed to failure?

Russell Coutts and Paul Cayard are launching a new race series for 70 foot cats.

Have we seen this type of series before - Grand Prix Formula One, Formula 40, Extreme 40, Multihull Open 60, plus a few round the world formulas. What is different with this latest idea to these formulas?
