Just in the process of buying an RS600 and I have an old crewsaver harness which I could do with updating. What would anyone recommend as a good harness to buy? Should I go for a "nappy" or "stappy" version? Which one is good vfm as they seem to cost anywhere from £60 to £125+? |

Nappy - P&B made to measure. They are so comfortable or as much as a harness can be.

If youve got the money go for a nappy style from P&B or RMW. ive got the magic marine skiff light which i use on the 49er and it seems fine, but the straps sometimes work loose. Worth trying one one first. In my 600 i found that i was leaning back alot more than in the 49er, so a good back support is gonna be useful.

Stear clear of anything with loose flappy straps and pop down to a decent chandelry to try some on. Most seem to have some sort of rig set up for you to hang off the wall and see how they feel in action... theres not going to be any noticable performance difference between the different makes so just go with whats most comfy for you.
I have a magic marine skiff light and have no complaints with it. |

Each to there own... my advice is go and try before you buy.
I felt like I had been castrated after using the Magic Marine skiff light so I have an adjustable crewsaver nappy which is comfy, adjustable so good for summer and winter but also features zipped flaps to cover all the straps so you don't get tangled. Spend a day fitting, and don't be afraid to try some wierd poses in the shops with it on, you'll regret it if you don't! (my favourite is the glove pick up bend down, suprisingly awkward in harness and full kit!) |

Thanks for the thoughts - seems like trying before you buy is the best option. The internet is a great way of browsing and saves having to do any of the dreaded shopping but it looks like it'll be the only way to be sure it's comfortable. |

Avoid straps and buckles especially on the hips - they snag so easily. Also be aware that a spreader bar can make it difficult to climb up onto the board.
