Let me be corrected, but isn't the whole idea of foiling, the fact that they go faster than convensional boats/winsurfers? In that video someone without a foil just cruises past, looks good but what's the point?!?!

Hardest part about foiling is keeping the thing in the water at speed.... It's
early days yet! |

Great new sport though, i think i'll have to try that one!! I love the "small random kid" and "big random kid" I thought the small randomer was the best of the lot! How old was he?

the foiling windsurfer looks awesome but yeah i think they need to
develop that a bit to get it a bit quicker! But it must be an
amazing feeling windsurfing about 3 foot off the water!!

I thought that, it might have something to do with rig size as well. But I don't really know its hard to tell the size of the rig of the convensional windsurfer. Edited by James W |

I made the foolish error of leaving my wetsuit at home in oxford and its hardly bordies and a rashie conditions up here! Wetsuits being posted up to me asap though so maby next time... Small random kid was incredible... he rocked up when he saw us get some kites in the air in a brief period of breeze in the middle of the day having got changed and walked over from his house about 150m away. Living on a beach does funny things to levels of watersports skill it seems... We reckon about 11 and effortly showed us all up. |

Foiling windsurfer - I'm not sure about this one, rig size shouldn't make that HUUUUUGE a difference - I think the issue has to do with having to keep the whole thing upright - if you really power up and get the rig up to windward, providing you with lift to relieve weight on the board, I think the board would just fall over to leeward. It's still cool, just a little bit pointless.
