Phantom.  Not sure about planing upwind but will carry weight. 

In terms of learning on a trap boat, Contender is a better plan.  Cheaper and much easier to sail, it forgives much more than a 600.  Then move onto a 600 when you've mastered helming from the wire.

I'm looking for a fast single hander for an inland water (approx 800m square).
The '600 is top of my list speedwise but would the fun of learning (swimming) be frustrated by shifting winds and lack of 'runway' ?
If a trap boat is unsuitable then does anyone have an opinion on a fast upwind-planer, good at pointing, sub 1020 py and can handle 90kg ?
