Nope, but they have to agree to be salvaged - you can't just start towing someone's boat away then claim money for it!

I thought that if a boat was drifting and not under the control of it's crew, if you put a line on board, you could potentially claim salvage. That's why you should give anyone offering to rescue you one of your lines to tie to their boat, as it proves you where still in some control!
