The boats really are aimed at a different market. New Lasers are for big fleet racing with no smiles, old Lasers are for trashing in waves at the beach. Fevas (there are no old ones) are for either junior/youth racing, or for adults to play in using 3 sails singlehanded. The crossover comes in club handicap racing, where the speed of the rest of the fleet, and what you enjoy more, will affect your decision. It is no fun being left behind, as a Feva might be, in a faster handicap fleet. On the other hand, if the fleet consists of Toppers or Mirrors and the like, a Laser will be too far infront to get a good race.

the feva is a good boat for single handing and its much much much more comfy to hike from than a laser. also contary to what everyone says the feva has good racing too. and coincidently i am tryin to sell my Feva .
600 732, will call it Sticks and Stones when i get round to it.

Thank you , someone who sees the light, the stupidity of such a ridiculous boat. I posted a comment on them on this very website and accused by the sales manager, Ricky, at RS for ruining their sales. Right because that will happen. I give one thing to it its a great value boat.

But a full rig laser will still be quicker off the wind on say a reach than a feva

definitely the laser if you want to race, but the feva is quite a good boat for blasting, and would be tougher (beaches/slipways etc). lasers can easily be found second hand, but you might have porblems in this respect for the feva. feva has a kite though...
