Woops got my cardinal points wrong. Well anyway the wind doesn't usually seem to come from that direction...

It's definately a telephoto lens job - the statium is at least a mile away - and it seemed a lot more than that walking to Wembley Park Station with a heavy sailing bag

You can't see the lake from the Jubilee Line as there is a large train depot in the way, and even if that wasn't there you'd only see the top of the dam, not the water as the lake is significantly higher up than the railway (and the football stadium)

Doubt it would do much to the wind, shame you can't say the same about the trees and the lorries on the North Circular!

By the way, the stadium is to the south west of the lake - there is a large hill with trees on to the north west.

Yeah, in the recent athens olympics i remember seeing 49ers racing with cruise ships that seemed a few metres away from them whereas in reality they were a few miles...

And it can't mess up the wind much as said wind usually comes from the south west, whereas the stadium is more north west.  Come to think of it, it may have yet affected race results as we gaze at it from the middle of the lake...

It could well be the perspective compression that a longer telephoto lens gives. Long lenses make objects that are far apart look very close together.

That said, I don't remember being able to see the lake from the jubilee line?

It is a good shot! Unfortunately only available in the size you've got. You can always get your computer to fit it to your screen.

Here's a direct link to the photo: http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/photos/?s=64&PID=15422

Check out the photo from the Merlin Open at Wembley on Y & Y homepage. Great shot of the new stadium, does anyone know if it does funny stuff to the wind ???
