This is the bit which has been f**ck*d off the most! They will run it whatever the weather, and then say they are thinking about canceling it, and to top it all off their deciding this the DAY BEFORE the event, after we've all booked hotels, paid our entry, etc etc, AND to top it all off, my boats already up there so going to have to go up there whether the weather is good or not ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Guys, you cant allow for the weather, but i symphosise with people like Olly who book uncancellable hotels, due to a mesaage posted by the club saying the Tiger will run whatever the weather. We could do with some rain tonight to wash the snow away! Gutted, and i was looking forward to buying a beer with the £10 i was going to win from villan!! |

Slightly disappointed at that but by the looks of that photo there is over a foot of snow in Uppingham.. guessing that its just as bad there. I really doubt they will cancel it, probably postpone to the next weekend. The road conditions around here aren't great. anyone coming from the uppingham direction would be screwed if its anything like today. The big dip in the a6003 just before turning off the parrelel rutland water has been so icey cars have really been struggling to get up that hill in both directions.. so boats with trailors would stand little chance! Its bad enough in Uppingham, seen plenty of cars sliding round today. Our house chef slid off the road between Rockingham/Corby and Uppingham today which meant we got no breakfast apart from cereal!! I'm leaving mine at 10:30 that morning .. so its a fat lot of good them cancelling it at 12 as i'll be there by then!!! Still, if its cancelled, i'm syphoning the commodore's petrol tank, and may as well stay in the area as my travelodge is booked and uncancelable! |

I'm sorry but this is a little bit over the top. I drive all over the country every week and so far this week have been in london on monday very bad snow and oxford today where the a40 disappeared and have had no problems. And i also agree with russ (which is unusual as he is my brother) rutland shouldnt have posted something on y&y about the event running in any conditions when its clearly not true. I understand that the club site will be snowy but if they get some volunteers down there to spread grit and shovel some snow it should be alright especially after 200 odd people have driven or walked around the site.
