It wasn't exactly 3000-weather either, Doug, but the rest of us enjoyed it!

Good attendance of top guys, sunshine, not too cold, and even the odd few seconds on the plane. Brilliant course with lots of varied legs downriver - huge improvement on previous years. Good RO, with a spot on decision for a general recall after the wind swung within the 1-minute (bet there'll be at least one person who disagrees there!).

What more can you want for a winter event? 5mph more wind, maybe, but then it gets colder with the wind-chill...

Light'n'sh*te! Got very grumpy and arsey with the lack of wind and so didn't
exactly concentrate. No concentration means doing stupid things like
capsizing when there's no wind.... So frustrating!
Not exactly my best Hoo Freezer result, in fact I think I probably was near
last. Grrrrr!! I can't do the light stuff!

BBSC Was pretty unsailable for me in the 14. The cold and gusts and wind variation was horendous.

Some good runs though so not too bad

No gloves, Ross? No wonder your hands were chilly.

But there really doesn't seem to be a solution to cold hands. I've tried various supposed winter gloves before reverting to Marigolds, which at least drain quickly and keep the wind off (and grip almost too well).

I wasn't cold at all. Hands were chilli at times but I
wanted to go sailing and chilli hands weren't stopping
me! There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

Gul steamer-£99
Gill wetsuit socks-£7.50 (bought on Friday especially
for today!)
Ronstan Skiff boots-£25
Triboard Spray top-£20
Buff polartech neck warmer- 15 Swiss Francs
Henri Lloyd fleece hat- FREE
Good, comfortable sailing- priceless

Let's just hope it's not this cold or at least one of the crew is going to be very, very cold...
