.........er, I'm a dinghy sailor. If I've committed a mortal dinghy sin by posting a cat shot tough sh*t.

......these partisan attitudes are the ugliest part of the sport

I'm sure they would. A good photo is a good photo, and I'm sure most sailors don't mind at least looking at them!

Action dinghy shots are two a penny unless they are exceptional, the short listed pics are OK but not exceptional. Action shots are all I ever seem to see, there's a whole lot more to sailing (and the dinghy show) than experts sailing difficult boats flat out,... As for the show mag, the whole cover format seems "blocky" and not very well integrated IMO.

.....anyway the chat on the beach afterwards quite often has more action in it than the actual sail

How many dinghy entries were there??

Infinitely more than there were for Cats!

Nice photo but doesn't inspire me to want to sail one - action needed.

Like the shot of Kit, but agree there are better out there. So I reckon that for the Dinghy show guide cover, the Laser shot is best as it depicts action, fun and enthusiasm - all in the most accessible boat imaginable. It is after all a show that aims to attract new blood into the sport - and that's the best photo for that purpose.

Unless there was an urgency to get the boat away from something, the support crew should help a little more!

IE, get a rope over the top to a shoud and use the boat to get the bloody thing up!

Like the fact someone was watching with a camera too and not doing anything.

rope with a wooden batten through the centreboard slot would solve all sorts of issues in that pic

Do wish I'd seen that

I've got some cracking shots..

This shot more encapsulates what dinghy sailing is about for us..
