No anger in that post at all. Wrote it purely for my own amusement. I've been around competitive sport at International level for around 30 years now, and come across many GRF's. They all had one thing in common - they wouldn't, or couldn't, walk the talk. Over to you Grumpf... |

I shouldn't book the loan boat Rick! Grumpf is a Sailing God - he's told us enough times so it must be true - and as such the following fundamental laws apply: 1) it would be an affront to his dignity should he ever be required to prove his ability 2) He is a God of competittive sailing, and therefore does not have to actually do it. 3) Given that he is a God, if he should be unable to sail a particular class it naturally follows that it is impossible to sail. 4) His status as Sailing God means, of course, that anything he says immediately becomes the truth. Whatever your experience of dinghy sailing, or - whisper it - common sense might tell you, forget it. Grumpf knows all - RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!! Grumpf - the great thing about competitive sport is that talk is cheap, and that's all you got where dinghies are concerned. Go to Westbere and show Rick how it's done. If you were to front up, win or lose, I for one would have more time for you. Not that you care cos you are a Sailing God. |

Why not have an easy warm up to winning in Lasers by coming over to Westbere for some Laser racing; it's a tight gravel pit with flukey breezes ... I'm sure it would be right up your street; I am sure I could arrange a loan boat for you ... let me know if you fancy a go; it's not far for you to drive. |
