Ah but it's not really is it?

Which is why new folk struggle.

I know what's supposed to happen to a sail and I struggle with the
multiple ways in which to feck it up.

And I bet if I took a random selection of the average boat park and asked
them to tell me what all those things did and the relationship one with
the other. (Lowers and kicker for example) I'd get an equally random
response rate.

We should have an online pop quiz to illustrate, not that anyone would
post for fear of looking stupid.

be introduced to an oppy in due course.

The 200 is still going strong - she's hit almost every boat on the tour by now!

It really is quite simple....

From right to left (perhaps the first 2 might be the wrong way round)

Adjustable Forestay
Adjustable lowers
Outhaul
Cunningham
Kicker

The other side is just the other half of the dualling. Continuous lines throughout no doubt. Looks like a well sorted ship, shame i dont have the money (or the stomach) right now.....

O.K. I give up.

What are all those cleats doing?

Are they a double up?

Is that some sort of adjustability going on at the lowers, but not the
'uppers' or whatever you call the bits of wire that go all the way up.

And what's all that stuff going on up the nose?

And speak slowly now, you know I can't always keep up here at the back
of the class.

No wonder you're selling it.

You've no idea how to work it have you?

C'mon admit it..

James,

Sounds like a perfect time to join me on a quest... to persuade Dan H to fire out a few more of those funky singlehanders.

He is (or at least was) a total perfectionist so I'd put money on it being a quality ship; I've told him that if he'll make me one in yellow I'm all over it like a rash.  Want one?  You know you do...
