Boat Advice (yet again - sorry!)

   Sorry to be yet another person asking what boat to buy but i could realy do with some advice. we are down grading our laser 3000 and looking for:

a single hander that can still take 2
preferably will fit on the roof of a car (although this may be impossible).
that is a good fun/exciting sail but doesn't take an expert (3000 was about as exciting as i would go!)
The best that i have seen so far is the RS Vario. is there anything simmilar/ better suited?

	what about a dart sprint , roof rackable , fast, easy to sail , solo or two up

	Good suggestion! Though I think the aim was for a dinghy rather than a cat?

	Given that the vario's handicap (relative speediness) is identical to a 3000 (at 1030), it doesn't sound much of a downgrade! Try the small sail option on the vario but still expect to work hard up wind. Sprint 15 even less of a downgrade - they are quite exciting for one person, especially with one hull 5ft in the air! Feva? Vision? Vago S? Lots of new, tame, plastic fantastics.

	roof toppable palstic...only the little ones. Mind you i wouldn't want to roof top a vareo either! I have a mate who takes his bright purple ent to events on the roof of a Rover 75. Takes the whole club to get it on and off though

	A Laser is certainly roof topable and especially easy since the deck is so flat. The trolley goes on top of the hull so that they in the same relative position as when the boats on the ground. It only takes 2 to lift off the trolley and then lift the boat off, get it the right way up and then put it on the trolley. A Citroen Xantia is the best car for this since you can lower the suspension and everything is at a reasonable hieght. However when I was doing a lot of open meetings I had a Fiat Uno and it was fine and didn't feel top heavy - but then I used a plastic trolley!

	A streaker, you can race these two up, just as exciting as a laser, less demanding to sail. They are light but i'm not sure about roof racking one, plus there leeway to make your own modifications to the boat and they can be picked up quite cheap. They go very well in a good breeze.
