Why??? If you want to helm from the wire on a singlehanded boat what else is there for that weight......A diddy rigged a 600! In actual fact 50kg is probably a reasonably good weight for the diddy 600. Lasersailor, I've only diddy rigged my 600 once but due to the over-loss of power, I estimate that a good py to work from would be around 1000. My advice would be to kindly ask your club if they could use this as a provisional py and then work from there. (around buzz, RS300 speed) Doug Edited by Doug.H |

Not being facetious but have you thought about an RS300? - there's a couple of guys around the 55kg range doing pretty well and they're absolute dynamite downwind!

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. |

Thanks people and yeah i mainly sail a laser 4.7 most of the time (because of weight issues) but the 600 is soooooooooooo much fun downwind. thanks for the replies. |

Not meaning to be unkind but at 50KGs I would strongly suggest looking at another boat!

There's only one PY, whether reefed or not. Normally you'd only reef it in high winds where the lower drag and reduced likelyhood of swimming makes it quicker over the water than a full rig. It's just something you'll have to live with in the early stages I'm afraid, but at 50kg I wouldn't recommend sailing with the full sail in any kind of breeze until you've got the hang of the basics of tacking, gybing and general boat handling |

Nope. By the time the non-skinny people have to reef, it's beneficial to stick the kiddy rig up, so it balances out. You should be okay up to about a F3 though - that rig is very easily depowered. |
