I'm usually playing strait in through a 3m cable for some seriouse raw, crunchy, Pete Townshend style rythem tone. I have a few effects but I rarely use them: MXR Phase 90, Standard Cry Baby, Rocktron Virtigo, Danelectro PB&J delay (want to replace with the MXR Carbon Copy and a couple more kicking around on the bedroom floor... Your board is mad! Is there not some serious treble loss through all that cable? The Orange is very dark in its texture and combined with an solid mahogany guitar, treble loss is fairly noticable. You are playing with a Tele though, and I can't think of a tele player who was ever lost in the mix. They just cut through like nothing else out there. |

*waves hand* bit different, but I play the recorder to diploma level, mainly baroque stuff but modern when i have to, the harp to grade 6, and I pretend to play the guitar.. badly. This folk mixture (recorder/harp) got me interested in folk metal, it's surprising how well guitars fit with violins/recorders etc! Have a listen to any of the Finnish metal bands such as Turisas, Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Finntroll, they take a lto of influences from the folk music of the area and it's a brillliant mix:) *stands back to take abuse about silly music...*

Ooh. I built my own Banjo too...
My Number one is a Tex-Mex Telecaster Special, although I also have an Eggle New York. I have a Marshall DSL-201 with a G15 for stereo colour. And effects... http://bp1.blogger.com/_7kaOT7AN4Bs/R64VtsV3BrI/AAAAAAAAACU/ mkqvZy-Sh_8/s1600-h/The+Beast+2.jpg Although there has been an addition since that picture, there's now a micro q-tron on the satellite board... Electrics or acoustics or both? Whats your fav guitars of the bunch? I've only got the one elctric atm. A Gordon Smith Gypsy 2 and I dropped in a set of P90's and it screams! I sold my Tokai LP75 (iirc) a couple of months ago. I'm about to go watch the guy I sold it to play it! Amp wise I've got an Orange Rocker 30 which took me ages to save up for a couple of years ago. This thing is never getting sold! I've also got one of thoes little Epiphone Valve Junior heads which is OK, and a collection of rubbish little practice amps...and an old tempremental Marshall Valvestate which is truly horrible
Edit: How could I forget! I have a non working 1970's Orange OR120. I think the mains transformer has blown Edited by Ross |
