Went for a blast in the B with villan and ratface on
BLYM, not at the same time thankfully! ... then ratface steered us right into a nice big shallow bit and we flumped, nice big chunks taken out of my daggerboard ... he got what he deserved when i pushed him off
the board after our immediate (dry) capsize!

all i will say is "i swear that the tree stump moves! "
![]() to add to that we clocked 44mph on BLYM* in a BIIIGGGG RIB(5 people in it) and 48.6mph with one person in it. Very impressive when you look at the size of the lake!! *those who have been to BLYM should remember how small the lake is Edited by ratface |

Went to BA Silverwings SX for the Laser event.
Jon Emmett decided to kip at the gate stopping people getting in! Once the fog cleared, the wind made its blessing and we all (ok me!) helped Jon E rig his boat. Something to do with buying "cheap" parts from Oz! and "a tight fit is always best!" Anyway sailing started after lunch to a drifter of a F1-2 shifting every now and then. After sailing more of us had to help Jon derig, you would of though a Laser coach could do it on his own! Anyway, had a good sail dispite the pants weather. |

I was doing safety boat duty. Fog stopped play all morning but the afternoon was lovely. Not much rescuing to be done, so sat back and watched the Wetas being trialled.

just drifted round in the 600 sat and sun. sat was significantly more drifty than sunday. by the second race today i was wiring on the reaches and upwind. fog was odd this morning, very patchy, going from could hardly see the marks to nearly seeing lee. It was very strange.

A windy Medway with a wind against tide causing quite a lumpy ride on Sunday the 19th. As always we were out and blasting downwind but the boat wasn't going well upwind - lowers too tight I think. Unfortunatley the top 2 metres of the mast gave way on one of the upwind legs. The first we knew about it was the top leaned back a bit more than it should and over the next couple of minutes it gradually fell backwards and then over to one side. We had capsised a couple of times but in no eventfull manner and so it was a bit of a surprise. Still we managed to beat back to the club by which time the top mast was hanging down just above our heads. Surprisingly the boat was still planing on the reaches and nothing else was broken or damaged except we lost a couple of metres off the main haliard. Whilst planing back up river my crew remarked that this is what it must feel like sailing a Laser 2000. Oh what a bitch. |

Not strictly the weekend but..... I went out today in the 29er, seriously breezy with some "interesting" gusts at quite a different angle to the breeze |
