Probably not uni boats if they were up at Loch Earn, but I read or was told at somepoint a while back, that we needed to put the loop system on the boat to make it class legal, (as stupid as that sounds). Don't know how strict the rules are now, my mate has picked up 4 Laser 2s to sell on at a profit and he needs a few kites for the boats. Was speaking to him about it in the pub the other night and he was saying he could get the kites made up by a sail maker as long as they matched the measurements and the boats would be legal. Either the rules have slackened off a fair bit over the last 10 years or the boats ain't going to be legal

I duno. It's been a while since ive seen one! I just remember being at Loch Earn and seeing one with the loop and one with a coke bottle and them saying the coke bottle was better.
