wasn't the 29er X the prototype and the boat they've built and been marketting the 29er XX........have a quick look here http://www.bethwaite.com/4409,488,1-0-designs.html, or maybe Bethwaite have got it wrong too????

Don't think they could have put a bigger rig on the 29er XX, the boat isn't long enough to make it appealing to the "masses" in sailibility. They could have knocked a T-foil on the back but in the same instance, reckon Bethwaite have been wise in their decision. If you want a bigger rig, buy a 49er. The 29erXX, from what I've heard is pretty twitchy, very responsive and quite powerful. They may have pushed it slightly because Ben (aka Curly Ben), who is working out in Minorca where they have the XX, says the staff say the boat isn't long enough for the rig and a few high performance instructors have stepped off the back.

I'd say 29er and XX it up, reckon there is going to be a much better class for the boat outside the UK, a little bit more lively and responsive........Although 4ks are pretty awesome
