Orange grippy gloves

Well, the olympic boys and girls seemed to start it all and now everyone seems to be using those cloth gloves covered in orange rubbery material on the fingers and palms.

However I have tried a few pairs now, and they seem to last about 1 race only before the rubber is pulling off the fingers and generally making them really difficult to use. 

Has anyone else had better luck or are some brands better than others?  I tend to buy the £1.99 versions from truck stops etc!

Iain, they do come in different quality.  The ones to go for are the ones with writing on the back in rubber, they seem to last longer.  The hod carriers who use them avoid the really cheap ones, they last them about a day where as the better quality seem to last them a lot longer.

go here http://www.thesafetysite.co.uk/ and go to the personal protection bit, and follow to coated gloves.  They work out at about £24 (+ vat) for ten pairs.  Should last you for ages.

 

I have the supagrip ones with grey rubber, have lasted me ages- and are warmish- i used them all through winter. Cope with thin spinny sheets and halyards very well.
