In fact having mostly girls in the fleet would be a payoff for having to sail a Laser - it'd almost be worth it

Ps I was thinking of putting an assymetric on me ole Heron , is it worth the trouble ?

 

Fed up getting whupped by young uns in there mirrors an things

r skiffs boats without selfbailers and one hull ?

why dont you just gety a radial if your too light or a 4.7? much simpiler. I know that the radial is the womens oylmpic class dusnt mean its for ''gurlies'' just- it just means that the ratio will be more like 50:50 with lots of the countries best women in the fleet, swelling the already large fleets and raising standard- while all the plonkers that are put of by this go 2 up in a standard rig!

I would be amazied if the ratio in Radials in the UK becomes 50:50, this would mean that there would be well over 200 boats at the Radial Nationals... poor old ken (PRO)! It is a sad fact that there are just more men involved in sailing than women.

Regards sailor girl's comments, I quite agree there is no reason why girls can not compete on an even stage with boys as there are no real sheet loads in Radial sailing... although there are obviously some areas of the sport where they would struggle (Radial sailing is not one of them!!!)
