BNS you total wine snob! I suppose you also object to synthetic corks too? Personally I don't care what it comes in so long as it tastes good. One of the nicest wines I tasted was a very cheap French plonk that came with a plastic top. Ok if you drink it close to purchase. HOWEVER if it is a wine that can be laid down for a while it has to be a proper cork. Out of interest my dear BNS what is your favourite red wine? |

I had a lovely wine last night, and it had a screw top. It was a Pasquiers - Shiraz Viognier.
I'm not saying that it is OK to put a screw top on a good wine. But making the point that not every wine with a screw top is crap. |

I was just about to explain this point to one of the guys I am working with here when he suddenly started saying how wonderful he thought it was! Said it solved all the issues of great wines suffering from being corked. I thought that was a contradiction in terms too. |
