I found the project quite interesting. I am a fully qualified life coach and I have been running "distance" learning for several years (most noticeably for the personal training side of the business, as I can rarely attend peoples weight sessions). I have always just used email but I can see how mysailingcoach looks very professional, although obviously does have limits. Paul suggested that I could use if with the sailors I work with... something I am considering!

Well; it's early days; but I have now got a gym programme that I didn't have before so that is a start plus I have had a 1:1 interview with Paul and he's working on some training exercises for me but it's not urgent as I'm off skiing next week.

All in all I think it's a good conecpt with good people behind it. The concept is well proven in other sports and I don't see why it won't work in sailing.

There is no other way for someone like me to get access to 1:1 coaching from someone like Paul without spending a fortune ...

I think if he can give me a structure to get me in the gym I will have better health and that will also have a good impact on my sailing. Also sailing exercises will be good as most of the time we just burn around the bay in the Mustos; perhaps it's time for some structured training.

I am happy with the experience so far and I am sure this will help my results and fitness.

Rick

I have signed up with the mysailingcoach.com programme and this a training aid Paul recommends; so I am getting one.

Thanks for the input on this thread - I have brought a s610i from this site for £155.

I use a S410 which uses the same chest strap and I've never had a problem using it whilst sailing. It gets worn under a wetsuit so no salt gets in really and im normally working hard so the sweat keeps a good signal going.  I would definately recommend a Polar as being the best make. The S610 are just about the bes modelt i know of but depends if you want to spend near £200 for one.

I am not looking at it just for sailing; the 610 was the one I was looking at.

Is the PC connection reliable?
