Has anyone on here any experience of using these?

I am after on that I can use sailing and to be able to download the data to a PC.

Any recommendations?

I have a Polar S610 but you need an electrolitic gel under the cheast strap( salt water affects the signal)

There may be better types around now for sailing.

Would I buy one just for sailing?  No.

Is it handy? Yes

I am not looking at it just for sailing; the 610 was the one I was looking at.

Is the PC connection reliable?

I use a S410 which uses the same chest strap and I've never had a problem using it whilst sailing. It gets worn under a wetsuit so no salt gets in really and im normally working hard so the sweat keeps a good signal going.  I would definately recommend a Polar as being the best make. The S610 are just about the bes modelt i know of but depends if you want to spend near £200 for one.

I have signed up with the mysailingcoach.com programme and this a training aid Paul recommends; so I am getting one.

Thanks for the input on this thread - I have brought a s610i from this site for £155.
