Thanks Rick for posting this. I'm a B14er and a little green with envy for not being in Aus but heh, thats life. The Brits are there in strength hoping to build upon the Ashes glory - ( read rub salt in wounds). Its very competitive on and off the water. Neither Bethwaite nor Ovington seem to want to promote the B14, so, it remains one of dinghy sailing's best kept secrets. Is it that the old B14 is more spritely than some of the newer offerings ? After much testing and deliberation, a carbon mast has been adopted, so, with its light weight and wings, it is right on the button for 21st century high performance sailing. Inspite of the steep learning curve, the B14 is, without doubt, the best boat I have ever raced. See www.b14.org
