Has there ever been a twin-trapeze boat with a symetrical spinnaker?

you say i14s but on the website it says when it developed the twin trapeze it was to make handling the asymmetric spinnaker easier to handle. I also believe this is the same with the 12s. |

I know they all began with symmetric but not with twin trapeze and symmetric. When these boats had symmetric spinnakers they had a single trapeze. |

Read it again. The i14 put a second string on in '84, and adopted the asymettric kite in '88. In both cases they were way behind Aus/NZ. The first two hander to run two strings was probably the R Class Fresco in New Zealand in 1959. The Qs and Twelves wouldn't have been far behind and were certainly two string in the early 70s, and indeed at that time the 18s were three string with pole kites. |

The int 14 went twin wire in 1984 and did not get the asymetric till 1989.
I do not know the dates for the other classes but most of them were twin string or more before they were asymetric. |
