We use these when skiing - they are good and pretty cheap and "splash" proof. http://www.urbanjunkie.co.uk/product.php/185/0/ I am sure they'd do the job. Rick |

This is going to sound stupid, but have you thought about using mobiles?
I'm talking about old ones, that lie around for months after you have got a free upgrade. I'm sure you could attach them to some kind of headband to make them hands-free, and unless it's really windy and you've loads of spray flying about, do they actually need to be waterproof? If they do get wet, who cares? :o) Seems a better option than £150 on a proper radio! |

Entel do a rather neat radio HT640 (about £150 each) including various
extras such as remote mike. They are waterproof to 1m for 30mins but
perhaps the best bit is that you can get "throat mikes". Google for
entel.

Right, all you electronics experts, I need to pick your brains on this: I'd like some 2-way radios for use when 2-boat tuning in dinghies. Each unit needs to have a combined earpiece/headphone and microphone-on-a-stalk thing, be waterproof and have hands-free operation. It'd save ages when doing speed runs as you could talk to the other boat as you're sailing along instead of having to stop, come together and discuss each run. Cheers! |
