from a purely selfish point of view ... I hope Jeff's order book doesn't get too long!

Looking at some of their phantoms, Vandercraft's build quality is spot on.

Performance sailcraft's boats do mostly last forever, tis true  - but mostly due to sheer weight of material methinks.

By popular demand I've put more photo's on the above link, taken from different angles. From just the single appearance at Rutland they're seriously considering it as their new asymmetric trainer. Jeff Vander had a similar response when he visited Burghfield. Build quality is the key. I'd love to see some good light-middle weight crews adopting the boat for some serious class racing!

Just sailed a V3000 in a F3-4- very easy, very fast! And all that space!

I still reckon a good sailor in a Laser 3000 would beat a lesser one in a V3000 in most conditions, but a V3000 has that windsurfer-type pattering under the hull when planing - has to be quick; can't wait to race in one.

As for the Vago, take a look at the last posting on this topic:

Thought people might be intersted in the latest post on the 3000 forum after the Burghfield demo day

I HAVE BEEN IN ONE
IT IS AMAZINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WENT OUT THIS WEEKEND WITH JEFF
IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL

CHRIS 3452

Chris is obviously a 3000 sailor, but not a member (yet)

This was the boat's first outing ... Jeff VB only received the hull (his second moulding) two days before the Southampton Boat Show and was still fitting it out on the stand the first weekend

Yes I'd certainly be interested, please keep me posted.  I may not bring my beat up & modded L2 fun to join the party out of sheer embarassment but I might bring its extendable tiller extension.

The possibility of a V3000 has finally gotten my 15yr old son on the wire of the L2 again - so he'd probably like a go too.

Chuffed to hear that all the things I've wanted in a l3k are getting put in the v3k - seems everyone in the 3k CA has been thinking the same things.

Mind you, saw my first VAGO today and it looks a lot better than the brochure photos.  Not as bloated as most plastic boats, but still hard to believe a PY <1000 given its size, basic mast and moderate sail plan.  D'you think Laser would send one over for a head to head??

I think theres an option of several mainsheet sytems, including (correct me if im wrong) a centre jammer, off the deck with(or without) cleats on the decks. and off the boom

just a quick question!!  can u still sail it singlehanded while on the wire and with kite cos i thought it was an off the boom main sheet which would make it a pain in the ars to do unless u had a cleat on the deck?
