Not sure if this is the right place to put it but here goes! I'm moving to Sudbury in Suffolk in about a month's time and I need to find a new sailing club. I've looked around a bit and there seem to be tons on the Essex coast but as I can't visit them at the moment I can't really decide! I'm only going to be there for a year so want to join asap. I'm hoping to get into high performance boats (thinking of getting a 4000 or 800) and I race a lot already so it'd be nice to join a club which caters for that kinda thing.. Any suggestions? Cheers
Ben

Thanks, yeah I'd seen that, I was just wondering if anyone on the forum was a member of any clubs over that way or could recommend any.
Cheers

Marconi SC might be ok if you want to sail in Essex....   good sailing area on the River Blackwater.

If you're in Suffolk tho...have you thought of Southwold SC?  The 4k fleet have an open there once a year.....

Both prob same sorta distance from Sudbury.....but I know Southwold has high perfomance fleets....whereas Marconi I think is more conventional dinghies ...i.e...we have a Kestrel open there..so that seems to be the sorta boat they race!

Ben,
I think Marconi SC is mostly cats, but I may be wrong. Stone SC is the
number one club for dinghys down there. Nice piece of water, and I know
theres quite a few 800's, 4 tonners, and 49ers down there. It's the home of
Loco Perro. Really friendly and they sell IPA in the bar
