twice as many things to try and dodge as you blast (well, the
tip-toeing gingerly with one wing planted firmly on the water kind of
blasting) your way downwind crossing the upwind leg

Lol me and ben were out in the cherub yesterday just bombing along and i was doing some dodgy helming to water was coming in from eyelets etc and was just spraying off the spinni blocks, it was seriously awesome! I really enjoy helming that boat as well as crewing it but i have just worked out, the only way to keep the boat flat is via steering, head up for more power to stop teabagging, bear away when its heeling! Easing the main does jack sh**. Nice having a crew who can give me advice when i have a look of terror on my face eh Ben lol. I have also noticed, if you do things in a relaxed way e.g. you have left enough time for manoevers etc, everything goes smoothly but if you have to rush, everyhting goes belly up and something will get caught, i guarantee!!

lol france if I'd realised you didn't know that I'd have said! I was
too busy trying to keep that kite trimmed to look what you were doing
Another trick is to let some kicker off - you want to be sure you can
bear away when you need to! (found that one out in a Laser 2000 when it
was very windy ) The only problem
with the asymetric is that you have to steer the opposite way to if you
were using 2 sails - i.e. bear away to stop yourself death rolling,
head up to flatten out! Just glad you couldn't see the look on my
face

Shoulda just gybed and gone straight for it
especially as we still managed to ground anyway! Think I've narrowed my
choice down to 4000 or 800, cos the 9er would be too expensive to fix
anyway from what my mate was telling me! and probably look at getting
an old cherub or something to mess around with - or jump waves in
