All,

I've been thiking about getting myself a radio controlled boat to sail  a bit when I don't have the time to get my boat out.  But being a Cat sailor, I would like to get a radio controlled cat.  Has anyone come acres any that are commercially available as kits or fully constructed ?

Budget is around 500 – 1000 GPB

Help !!!!

Aren't remote controlled all keelboats? What are you going to do if your remote controlled cat capsizes in the middle of the pond?

No, cats exist.

Some are as you say a nightmare if you tip them over; look :

http://www.sail-s.com/Radio_Controlled_Sailboats/model_radio _controlled_sailboats.htm

(WILDCAT)

Some have a swing keel that rests on the leaward hull so once a hull is flyiong it does not fo any further.  Done a bit of googleidge over lunch but not found anything with swing keels....

Help !

It aint no cat , but still good to sail

Why not try a rc Laser , theres now hundreds in UK thousands in the world, and most being sailed by REAL sailors , when they can't get the real thing , in the winter etc .and Cat sailors are winning !!!

Racing them is totally infectous and gets you out the house, you can even take the kids along .

Doesn't replace the real thing , but racing is totally absorbing

There are cats and tris out there , but not off the shelf that would be worth sailing , and certainly you would be lucky to find many to sail against , as you race cats I'm sure you would want to do same with a model, there is racing but few and far between .

By a rc laser with full kit £500 squids leaves £500 for drinking , get fed up sell it , like the real thing they hold their value.

No brainer
