   As for symetric vs. assymetric, on a dead downwind course, with the assy gybing down, and the symy goosewinged, the assy will always get there 1st, all other things being equal.
Size and length of spinny halyard - anything you want! But generally as narrow as your crews hands will bear! And just get a block to fit whatever rope you choose. But I'd recomend a sea sure all metal one.
I found loads of tin masts for sale. Not sure how much people want for them though. I'll find out more. Have you emailed the seller yet?

	Cheers you rock, although we a\re getting a boat now which has a metal mast sorry should of told you!!! But we are now having huge problems with how to get it from Plymouth to Bristol (Chew Valley SC) becuase my mate's ,um doesnt want him to get another boat so wont pick it up, AND my dads car doesnt have a towbar . OOO!!!!! we are trying to contact seller but he's not there at the moment, i hope if we give him a bit of money he might deliver it, but if not we are utterly screwed !

	Kite halyard is 4mm. And just long enough to go up the mast, round the kite (when full), through the chute, back to the block, and back to the bottom of the mast. Probably about 15m???
