59er v rs400

We didn't really consider a 49er or cherub because I am only 14 and also in the national 4.7 squad so because of all the traveling and my age we wouldn't have the time/strength to master a twin trap boat. We also thought the B14 would be beond our reach and would take a lot of matenance.

Deos anyone know how many 59ers there are in the country?

Small spinnaker I said, not small sail area. The white sails are reasonably generous, hence it carries weight well on the sea. And anyone at my club will tell you that's no new observation from me!

I agree to the idea that the british market has long been lacking a well sorted single trapeze assymetric boat, im very surprised that to this day both laser and RS (especially RS) have not risen to the challenge. And before anyone comes away with it, the Vago is a more all round boat not a top end club racer / national level racing machine. For a while i considered the cherub to be the only worth while single trap asy. boat out there, as the 4000 is beggining to age slightly (despite still being a very very good boat). Perhaps Julian Braithwait has the right idea by adding a trap. to the 29er, but this is only an upgrade style modification, and not an all new design of boat. Also just to say i was not disrespecting the cherubs move to twin trap. in my previous statement, infact i think the new rules are the best thing to happen to the class in a long time, coming from a development class, its good to see one of these classes receivng a lot of positive focus. However back to the point, have you considered a cherub, i know its a branch away from what you originally looked at but at that weight you could manage it, or even consider a 49er, both will teach you more than the 59er and 400 (not that these boats will teach nothing, but with evident niggles either way as seen in this thread) perhaps you should consider a different style of boat. 

Peter, you're missing the point, it's not that it's difficult, it's just I find asymmetric sailing is more pleasurable.

I have thought about the trap idea but now there's three 59ers in the club we just as well stay in class. Peter LOL but can't be doing that pole thing, 505 with assymetric would be great!
