Actually the apparent wind is stronger then true wind speed every time you go upwind:-) But yes, sailcraft that achieve high multiples of true wind speed (ice yachts best example) are sailing with the sheets pretty much hard in pretty much all of the time. No really fast craft has a spinnaker, they're only for medium speed boats! To go upwind I guess you must just point upwind and watch the sails flap until you've slowed down enough to let thm fill again! |

as you brought up the topic jack, has anyone got any advices for my
concern: i´m trying to stand on my hands instead on my feet while
trapezing in the 14, but i just don´t really have a plan how to do it!

lol tht looks a little scary, yer to trapeze on ur hands would be really hard im not sure how youd do tit quickly enough not fall over and still have control of the boat, plus ud have to like hand ur legs out which would bereally weird!

Handstand trapezing - It's easily possible - I
occasionaly do it on a 420 (not usually while racing). I just go out as usual, rest my feet on the shrowd, kick and spin round. You have to be quite low on the wire Whilst you're holding onto the rim of the gunwale you're quite secure... I think thats how I do it - you've just got to kinda go for it I guess
Yeah, you're legs to kind of flop over a bit. (btw, don't try to helm or do anything )
Anybody ever tried trapezing back to front? so you look down at the water?? |
