Nope, the 29er got them because you couldn't put the 49er type foils on a training boat. We've got a sort of carbon/foam sandwich construction. They have a similar finish to the old 5000's

Especially how the board in the contender was brand new...

Does the 49er have metal coated foils like the 29er?

Yeah, felt I had to give her a love bite and my knee is suffering the consequences. Even funnier was Oli ripping the back right off the Contender board. Must be something about our partnership, we're that good that even when we're on different boats we still do the same things at the same time. Your Dad will be thinking don't ever let those two touch anything bar the 49er......

We're on the Clyde estuary and we had a fair bit of chop, but loved it sailing the boat concertidly through it like a Laser. Loved it because it's the first time in years I've done it because the skiffs you just try and drive over the top. Reminded me I can still do conventional boats. Flat, fast and never slowing was the call of the day. It took us two minutes to cover a few miles with the kite up, then ages to get back against the tide. Renewed my love of 505s

So go on, KnightMare, do it, go for a sail - if the weather's right, don't miss it - but don't stick around the bar for too long after sailing...

As my old chemistry teacher once said - I got my results at school inspite of the amount of effort I put in...

Had my GPS on boared on Sunday.  21.7 MPH was the max I got but I was taking it VERY easy as it was soo windy.  I'd get you would probably get best speeds in a little less wind.
