Seen that and enquired but he refused to drop the price... it does look nice though, but still too much

Thanks anyway!

Chris you should be ashamed of yourself - not using a boat for 15 years is very very sinful!!!!

It is a very long story, I sailed it at the Europeans all that time ago, the owner (my crew) then decided to take up hill climbing, I bought the boat from him 5 years ago as it was always a nice looking boat and that is that. Was hoping to use it for club racing but have never got around to putting the fittings on after a re varnish.

I have had other boats to use, not always my own which have taken priority particually in my line of work.

Not used for 15 years???? Would the price be up for negotiation then!?

But seriously guys stop suggesting boats for £1000. We dont have that much money!! We are after something really cheap to sail together! We are struggling to convince our parents to pay £850 at the moment..........Aparently having 2 600's is enough

Yes the one with slight damage certainly looks the best buy, although not a winder it should be reasonable competitive being a relatively modern composite, and will probably be easier ot resell once you have finished with it.

If I were you i would look into the third one down that seems like a fantastic price for a boat with only "slight" damage. So if you don't mind doing a bit  of work  you could have a almost competitive fireball for under a grand. If I dint already have "too many boats" I would probably be considering it.

I reckon about a grand or so will get something reasonably decent, as a basic starting point. Cheaper than that and you could try ebay - there have been the odd one or two there lately.

Edit: three on there at the mo'. search for (trust me):     fireball sail -"deep purple" -"robbie" -nato

Don't forget Brightlingsea has its "Pyefleet Week" (August 17-23). Either fleet racing for the Fireball's or lots in a handicap race.

Fibreglass at that price will likely be heavy and slow, but a good wood one will give you loads of fun and lots of bimbling capabilities!
