Future Olympic Classes?

Double-handed Dinghy Open and Single-handed Dinghy Open not needed.

This should leave

Keel Boat Women         & nbsp;         & nbsp;    Yngling

Double hand Dinghy Men         &nb sp;    470 or 49er

Double hand Dinghy Women         470

Single Hand Dinghy Men         &nb sp;     Laser or Fin

Single Hand Dinghy Women         & nbsp;Laser Radial.

This leaves womens multi not to mention single and double hand, un-represented.

This will be unlikley to change because of the IOCs wishes to further cut back on sailing participation numbers.  We may very well see the Open Dinghy classes cut for 2012 and also Keel boats because of the cost oh hoasting them.

Forget about additional classes as much as we may love to see it.  It ain't gunna happen.

I think the prospect of getting more medals is nil; so the point of this discussion is to review if we have the best classes and categories.

We may even need to think what happens if we have to drop a medal; I think keelboats don't really have a place in the Olympics.
