i was trying to wndsurf on both days and mostly falling off. i enjoyed it though. on sunday i got bored of falling off windsurfer boards and went to fall off the 600 for  bit. i did some gybing practice and only capsized 3 times. we also got the jib up on the 14 and found that theres not quite enough travel in the tensionner under the daggerboard case. so another job for next weekend. And the rudder for the 14 arrived today and is looking very nice although we may only be able t use this boat at spring tides.
600 732, will call it Sticks and Stones when i get round to it.
Also International 14, 1318

i went out on the sunday in my rs300. left my foils at home though so used a laser5000 rudder bolted on the the pintles and a minisail daggerboard. needless to say, this didnt work and after wobbling around for 5minutes i headed in before my pintles got ripped out

Had our first race of the new season and bugger me if that RS500 didn't
seriously deliver the goods, don't know what exactly I've done, had to
take the mast down whilst the club boat park was resurfaced so whilst i
had it up home I replaced all the ropes, it looked a bit more raked when
put it back up again in the post clocks going forward rush so I must have
done something positive with those spreaders following all the advice I
got here thanks..

Anyway in the 12 -14 kts we got Sunday she turned in a superb
performance, we nailed the nearest 470 by 4 mins and the RS400 by 4
1/2.

There again maybe they were just a bit rusty, typical though, now I've
bloody ordered a new boat.

See!

All it takes is a bit of patience!!

Congrats on beating those pesky 470's ... but are you now ready to start the whole learning curve again with a different boat?

Exactly what they were all saying on Sunday

But it doesn't blow 12 -14kts every time and any more or less and we get
nailed.

I had a cracking race in the 600 on sunday!

The race started and i crossed the line 17th (last) then by the 3rd mark i was second and by 15mins in i was in the lead . I've never been in the lead before and it did get quite lonely .  By the end of the race I was 3 1/2mins ahead of the 2nd (rs300) finisher. Overall i finished 7th on handicap due to the many good phantom sailors .      I was dead chuffed !

Monday i went out aswell, while i was getting changed i lent the 6 to my mate who's thinking of buying one... i call him back in, and on his last leg to the slipway he slips over and off the side of the boat, snaping my carbon and kevlar tiller clean in two! I borrowed my brothers carbon one so went out again being very carefull . Then I popped down to carbonology down the road and got a 2.5m lengh of thick carbon tube, a 40cm bit of narrower stuff for repairs and the end with the joint for £59 instead of £89 because i caught him on a good day, so got a locals discount ... bargain! Also my mates buying me a spare !

Splosh.

went sailing today in a full rig laser (15kgs or so too light for it)
blowing 15-20knts gusting much higher
upwind was interesting but downwind i was flying, did many deathrolls and got told off by the  Si in charge for doing san fran rolls aswell as gybing infront of the clubhouse as i was apparently 'scaring' the kids on the courses, and came back in with a broken boat. whoops
