Thanks Tim,

I think you will notice a big difference downwind with the bigger kite.  Should make you more comptetive under IRC in medium wind conditions.  We are a bit heavier and smaller #1.

Tim,

How big is the kite, what weight are you and what is the size of your #1.

Reducing our spinnaker to 46sqm and re-measuring the sails has brought us down to 0.966.  To compensate for reduction in kite size we have pushed the halyard 600mm higher up the mast - this worked very well for Pink Gin last year and we have also fitted a choker from old halyard point for when it is blowing.

They have taken a dislike to anything with a fin and bulb keel this year. Now I know the projections isnt exactly that but its quite racy and that might have influenced this.

That's interesting. Our cert has gone down year on year for as long as IRC has existed.

Got our new IRC cert today!

0.966 up 0.001 on last year!

Have not done a thing to either the boat or sails since the last cert issued in July/August last year!

The rating office must have a computer that is affected by temperatue/humidity or some other factors.

I thought as boats got older they would get a better shake, but not in the case of the trusty Projection....eh?

Just got the 2008 numbers back - we're still at 0.972.

Reasonably happy with it - we've upped the kite by 5sqm since last year and only slightly reduced headsail area

Figurehead is Myrtle the Turtle from Cherbourg. A prize from the fair in Cherbourg after the JOG race over last year .

Myrtle is the most reliable crewmember, always shows up and never has a hangover.

Boat looks good Kev!

But can I ask what the figurehead tied to your pulpit is?
