Taken around 1969/1970 this photo shows how the 50s Merlins of 4ft 7ins beam had evolved into the 6ft 8ins in that time.

The sad thing is that I can name all of the dinghies on the cover.

I'm not old enough (i'd have been about 5 at the time) to have seen No4 sailing, but I've seen pics, and it was certainly a good "thinking out of the box" experiment. Won't name it, though!
