Seen both the RS 700 and MPS in action, and the MPS does look like the thorouhbread out of the two.

How about updating Uffa Fox's views about having the International Canoe as the Olympic singlehander?

So if you are after performance, a challenge and an International class there's the Assymetric Canoe, already in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, France, Germany (and the Cayman Islands).

that´s a good idea! an assymetric int canoe would attract a massive amount of people! would be great publicity for olympic sailing.

Int Canoe= GOOD IDEA, still think the MPS would be slightly better though.

i don´t know what the ideal weight for an int canoe is, but i think mps would suit the light weights more. and not too tricky too handle and it has a trapeze!

I think that since the MPS is a new class, a lot of people are getting into the boat from a sort of professional point of veiw anyway and the class would gain a boost from gaining Olympic status. As people were saying with the 505, it might put the balance of the Int Canoe class out by gaining the status because a lot of sailors have established themselves within the class for what the class is just now and may take dislike to gaining the status and leave the class due to what giving a class that sort of status entails. Mind you, it would be interesting to see what the Int Canoe class thought of the idea and whether the members would like the boat to gain that status.

Int canoe are nice boats but need such a specific handling like int moth that I can't consider it as representative of a general sailing skills which is the aim of the Olympics games to me.

or you cud look at  it as u need  to be so amazingly skilled to sail an IC - therfore  it will push  aspiring olympic sailors  and only truly skilled sailors would make it
