Good decision, a xenon is a very good choice. I sailed one at the nssa regatta and was very impressed with there performance for such a heavy plastic boat. They seemed large enough to comfortably fit four people. Good look with finding one.

Good question! Lots of boats out there seem to be ex Endeavour.  These have been used for just a weekend by some very experienced sailors so you wouldn't expect there to have been too much abuse. Topper sell them with a warranty don't they?

I think that Topper boats are built down to a price more so than others, and some of the fittings and features seem a bit of a compromise. Also, Topper has flooded the market with "used" Endeavour boats for the last few years. Good luck if you get one, come and join in the Omega-Xenon series, First round at Fishers Green next month.

You don't say where you are but for £4,200 (or £4k if you offer it) Boats and Outboards have this one for sale

http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F171555

Xenon Sport with Gennaker (black) - includes a combination trailer and top cover. This boat has been sailed less than a dozen times in 18 months. The Gennaker has been up twice. She is in excellent condition. Reason for sale: My boys are off to university so no sailing partners. Next move a trailer sailor. REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE - O.I.R.O. Or part exchange (ie Limbo 6.6, Jag 21 etc).

Gennaker 12.75m2 - Mainsail 12.0m2 - Jib 3.5m2

So they are out there in your budget!

I didn't sink, it held its buoyancy for the whole 3 hours we were out in it.

And I still past my pre-entry!!

I would agree if you can get a second hand Xenon, you'll do well.

Topper do have second hand ones available - http://www.toppersailboats.com/xenon_used.aspx
