I agree Olympic classes must be international classes. But with the politics of the builders around the world it wont be easy. Every continent is developping its own class. Vanguard in the US, skiffs or 13" in australia, RS in europe and hoppefully asia hasn't invaded us with dinghies yet  .

Except bethwaite who has a global politics if you want a worldwide class I only see 420, 470, 505, fireball, int14, 18", int Moth, Snipe or FD who are not suitable to the modern or OD (or close to like Finn) criterias.

why do you want rs boats as olympic classes?? most of the designs are taken from allready sucessful boats but just made less tippy and easier to sail( mabe not the 300!) which is great for getting people into sailing but as an oc?? it just not gonna happen......i hope

Be patient they came first in France this year. We have now 4 or 5 of them. A friend of mine got one in Luxemburg but sails in France. If you don't live too far I may introduce you.

RS doesn't seems to sell out of britain widely. I had many discussion with the french RS dealers and they just tell me that RS doesn't help them at all.

i´m not too sure but i always thought the rs700 is much cheaper than the musto skiff but they´re similar in construction.
it´s a bit far cause i live in munich, bavaria.
