Took the 8.1 out on Sunday. Has some people looking at me like I was mad! So off I went, had a lovely sail round managed to come 4th on Handicap in winds that were definitely haevy for little old me....
Much more interest in the rig now...especially after the controlled gybes in the gusts...escept 1 where I went for a swim.... Paul |

I went out on Saterday... Everyone one was banned from the dinghy park due to the F9 gusts whipping through, and many were boats on their side and up side down! Constatly between F6 and F8 with upto F9 gusts. Thigh high chop rolling down the lake so couldn't resist getting back on the board. Stacked on my smallest kit and board and spent almost all the time air borne!... ...got some great piccies off me aswell... Mark.

I love windsurfing when its too windy to sail! I'm not paticularly good, can't do any tricks or anything but I still enjoy it
. Bloody knackering though when its windy. Kitesurfing is more my thing but unfortunately not so easy to do.. Need some hot weather and some nice blue sea to enjoy . Obviously you can't on Rutland and I don't live near the coast so only when I go on holiday.

Windsurfing is cool but I wouldn't do it in suicidal gusty weather, I'd like to have my arms in their joints the next day.
Anyway, looking to get my own board not sure what to get but something that has some float to it!! |

Morning: Rigged Wayfarer's, they confuse me
![]() Afternoon: choice of rigging the 14 or going sailing, naturally i went sailing. took a RS200 out solo, got a crew, had a blast, acquired Ross' GPS ,while watching him attempt to sail a topper! ![]() got 14.7 knots max from the GPS and a 13 knots average ,was getting 5-6 knots upwind. did a rather embarrassing Windward capsize to the amusement of many people |

Sailed at blym with James and Co today. I sailed a knackered
200 and had a couple of good runs but the kite system was a complete hunk of
sh*te and just made life horribly difficult, the main had an auto ratchet that didn’t
work (Holt I believe), it had a very tired jib and to top things off the control lines were just plain hard to use. SMODS.... |

If you can't carry it, don't sail it! |
