One of the golden rules of dinghy parking. Never ever leave the sails onboard, particularly for extended periods.

Does the Minisprint have a suggested PY? It looks like it could be a hoot.
(Message to Grumpy Cat... No I am not.😁)

May be a old sail down the club, will check and get back to you, probably tatty, but will give you a chance to sell boat.

Insurance? You are probably right about getting rid of it, only someone interested in Minisails would take on the Hull.

Noo don't remind me, another disaster. I'd pretty much sold it, bear in mind it's been down the lake all through lock up and more, so I go to get some pics of it, for the would be new owner and..

The only redeeming part of that boat was the brand new sail, and it's now got extra windows, if it isn't otters or mink taking up residence it's mice or whatever else thinks dacron is a tasty dish. At this rate I'll be paying someone to take it away or take a chain saw to it for landfill.

Sorry to hear that , hope they get it sorted soon so you can get to grips with your new toy .

As a pond monkey it’s easy to forget not every sailor just turns up at the same location, at the same time, all year round and go sailing 99.9% of the time .

Ask me about the new kitchen makeover I've had to cough up as penance, that's doing fine thanks, as to the Contender it's exactly where I parked it up on the drive last year, whilst the torrent of grand people, their parents, their parents dogs, their xmas gifts, their vehicles and all the other detritus of modern xmas passed through.

Then the beach replenishment started, every year they wait for the perfect time (just before the winter storms that come along and remove their efforts) giant tonka toy articulated monster dumpster trucks carry shingle the length of Princes Parade (about two miles), we longingly look on from the coffee shack we visit, wishing we could be monster truck drivers and plotting to put in a bid for the contract just for the joy.

Meanwhile forget launching new Contenders over the ruts they create and contemplate designing a revolutionary Contender launching sled with a block and tackle device attached to the promenade wall. Rig Contender on the sled, sail it down the beach, as Contender floats off, a rope attached to the rear of the boat engages and pulls the sled back up the beach. The rope being continuous attached to weighted buoy drop below low water mark and on return, reverse process.

I wish...
