Any tips for a newbie trapezer? Apart from James' useful "the paint's slippy"?

Use your toes to get that bit of extra weight out, turn front foot forward and pull your should up so your facing forwards, if your spending more than 70% of the time with legs bent even slightly pull up a bit, if your extended 100% of the time lower yourself a bit... Ummmm what else.. Legs widish apart when its choppy to reduce chance of you going round the front.. Not too much so that you weight isn't far out and your doing splits .

Hmm can't think of anything else off the top of my head..

hook on before you slide out, get used to the whole hooking on out on the wire thingy later. it will take longer this way but you will avoid embarressing and cold swims.

Depends on what boat. Some boats need a step up and out and some need a step/swing out motion.

Front foot first for going out, back foot first for coming in.

If this is regular trapezing then go find a harness that you like rather than buying a harness on someones advice as what works for them might not work for them.

get out on the handle first if the wind is looking lively then hook on! Wire to wire tacking is the only whay in proper traping weather, also try and be smooth with stepping in an out. Front foot should be as horizontal as possible to help balance but also to make your body slightly face forwards sop you can see the race course.  I found the best thing for training for me was watching higher and faster and time in the boat!  One other thing to remember is not to think to much about it and just get on the wire!
