Removing Dunlop thixofix similar to evostik ie nasty stuff.
Self adhesive pro grip far less onerous I believe.

Just did this on some racks.
Found that a nicely sharpened chisel driven at a shallow angle with one hand and held down by the other hand on blade removed the vast majority without recourse to vast amount of solvent. Remainder scrubbed off with acetone.

Its whatever the goo is that progrip used, these were self adhesive strips.

You can get adhesive remover from 3M which worked really well on the slot gasket on my 400.
The RS Components(not RS as in 400) is not so good. I have also used solvent thinners it all depends what you stuck it down with.

So I'm prepared when i get back to the boat, what do i want to take with me to remove the goo that is bound to be left after removing some self adhesive pro-drip?
