Nope... was out on a motorcycle run though, and the wind was entertaining in places...
My heavy weather boat wont be ready for this years blow, unless it continues into May or June... |

A small group of us went out at blithfield. It was big breeze in the morning but by the time racing started it actually died right down. Everyone that was put off by the weather forecast missed some really good sailing. I'm starting to the think all internet weather sites should be banned from all sailors.

Was out a Datchet; they put on two races. I have to admit i didn't even finish one - but i had a laugh (and a lot of capsizes hooning about) - getting the kite up made the lake feel very small.

Nope 27 kts with 40 gusts tends to break stuff I've noticed, better off on something without wires and ropes, not that I bothered.

Yes Doug.H....there was some conversation at our club last night about that. We've removed the webcam and it's been suggested that all weather info and links be removed from the club website. But I guess most of us know how to quickly access Windguru and other such sites. |

I have to say, Windguru was rubbish this weekend. Some say that it is normally like this. Met Office was almost exactly spot on down our way.

XC weather works best for us in this area, regrettably it rarely ever gets it wrong.
Doesn't stop me turning up though for a chat and a cuppa, although this week I didn't bother getting straight out of bed into the dry suit as I might normally on a winter sunday morn. |
