Your embedding didn't work... but even copying out the youtube link, that's actually not very pleasant to watch!!  some interesting distortion of the water surface, but otherwise too weird to be watchable!

Australian Lightweight Sharpies I believe: 12sqm Sharpies but updated roughly to 60s or 70s style. Does remind me why I don't want to sail pole kite boats regularly again.

I watch that and I think, maybe I miss the adrenaline rush (aka panic) of the F5+ pole change over, kite ragging massively, helm hanging on to three things + the tiller thing.... then again, maybe not on a regular basis!

Nice video. And good to see an old Dave Green OTT Class 5 yacht being sailed. My one was a little unruly and I needed to add lead just behind the front wheel on the main spar to keep any control. Can I ask how you set yours up?

hello Jack,

I bought this OTT in 1996 I guess, the problem is, I put some sand in the front of the hull, when the wind is increasing. Without sand or like you, the lead, its more difficult to control. With less wind I don't put any sand in the hull, but with tacking I come with my body up to put more weight on the front wheel, you can see it in the video.
best regards
Ron

Ah! Great same technique I used to use. I was worried I was a muppet for a bit! LOL
