And a contender has 1% of the fleet of a Laser... Pity people have to post silly knocking comments.

Yeah, but perhaps it's not just pie scoffers who want to sail from the trapeze....

Hey that's not fair it is a good looking boat and its lightweight and open to various builders it has the makings of a good class. But why would I or any mass market buy one when just to sail in a handicap fleet?

130 contenders at last worlds, yes 1% laser sales but surely not 1% fleet size

Your right my fishy friend.  Much less than 1% world wide.

Look it's quite simple: if you weigh 68kg and you want a trapeze boat which suits your weight the Farr is a good choice. All the other singlehanded trapeze boats on offer demand greater crew weight.

I would love to race in Contender sized fleets. I had a Contender forty years ago but it was too big for me then and matters won't have improved now. Most dinghy racing these days is on handicap and so one might as well race a dinghy one likes.

The Farr is a good boat and I enjoy it - that's all.
